A Stunning and Memorable 19th MIS Commencement Exercises

Memorable and full of happiness enveloped the senior students of Manado Independent School (MIS) classes of Kinder– 2, grade 6, grade 9, and Grade 12 at the 19th Commencement Exercises held for two consecutive days from June 14-15, 2023 at MIS Auditorium. The hallways and auditorium were beautifully decorated with pictures, flowers, lighting, and landscapes. The atmosphere was filled with joy and happiness from all who attended especially the graduands.

The Euphoria of 18th MIS SA CUP 2023 Has Finally Ended

The biggest sporting event which was organized by Manado Independent School (MIS) through the 18th MIS SA CUP 2023 officially ended successfully on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. The event, which has been going on for a week, presents various sports and musical activities such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, lawn tennis, swimming, band, dance, and singing competitions. Basically, the participants of this event were exclusively students representing their own schools in North Sulawesi.

The Highlights of the Phenomenal Opening Ceremony of the 18th MIS SA CUP 2023

Manado Independent School (MIS) officially opened the 18th MIS SA CUP, 2023 on Wednesday, May 10 at 3:00 PM at the school’s soccer field. As expected, the opening ceremony was spectacular. It was a combination of sports and cultural arts presentation. Vijaya Kollabathula, Ph.D, Principal of MIS High School, said that the main objective of MIS CUP is to help students to develop their leadership skills. Besides, it can build and strengthen relationships between MIS and the schools throughout North Sulawesi.

MIS Employees Excursion:Improving the Spirit and Work Ethos

Taking a break from strenuous work, all teachers and employees of Manado Independent School (MIS) carried out an excursion at Sunrise Makalisung Beach on Thursday, April 6, 2023. This event is held every semester of each school year. It aims to strengthen relationships among employees and foster positive spirit and work ethic of MIS workers.

A Blessed Week at MIS

The students and teachers of the Manado Independent School (MIS) sought to highlight the importance of prayer, with a Week of Prayer (WOP) program. Throughout the week, from March 13 – 17, 2023, students and teachers were very receptive to the sermons. The theme chosen for this program was “Our Need for Living Water” with a powerful guest speaker from Kenya, Pastor Timothy Omwega.

The Exhilarating MIS Fun Run 2023

Fun and healthy are words that can describe the success of the “Fun Run” which was initiated by Manado Independent School (MIS) through the Science and Health Club on Sunday, March 12, 2023, held at Megamas Manado field. Many students who are members of the Science and Health Club showed happy, cool, and cheerful expressions under the bright sun on that Sunday morning. Everyone was so eager to run.

English Week and SA Cosplay: A Back-to-Back Gaeity at MIS

The English language plays a significant role in the lives of students at Manado Independent School (MIS) as it is the academic language used on campus. As an international school, MIS conducts a weeklong program that mainly focuses on the English language and its usage in different areas of learning. An annual event in the school calendar, English Week is also one of the most highlighted occasions of the school year. This program promotes the use of English on campus. It also intends to provide fun and opportunities to advance communication skills through various activities related to the language.

Clean and Green: MIS Science Club Program

The atmosphere of Manado Beach located on Boulevard 2, Tuminting, does not appear as usual. The beauty was marred by a massive amount of trash. Hence, several students, teachers, and the committee of Manado Independent School brought plastic bags and sacks to clean up the trash along the beach area on Sunday, February 26, 2023. This campaign is an environmental concern driven by the MIS Science Club, which consists of several elementary, middle, and high school students in their “Beach Clean-up” program.

Cultural and Culinary Week: Understanding World Cultures and Traditions

Every year, Manado Independent School celebrates Culinary and Cultural Week programs. These two exciting events mark the true identity of our school which is international in standards and curriculum. Various cultural displays through delicious food; amazing arts and crafts; beautiful costumes, and superb talents and skills are presented during these events. These programs aim to teach students to value their local culture and traditions, especially in North Sulawesi, and to understand their origin; and explore diverse cultures and traditions from different countries.
