Manado Independent School (MIS) has once again achieved remarkable success in the field of martial arts, particularly in Taekwondo. Brooklyn Still Saerang, a Grade 11 student, clinched first place and brought home a gold medal in the K-1 Taekwondo Pro Junior Boys U75 kg category at the Open Taekwondo Challenge Series. This provincial-level competition was organized by Taekwondo Jidokwan Indonesia in North Sulawesi and took place from May 2 to 4, 2025.

Competing in both the Elementary School (SD) and Middle School (SMP) categories, MIS boys' and girls' teams dominated the tournament, securing championship titles across all divisions. The four winning teams—SD Boys, SD Girls, SMP Boys, and SMP Girls—demonstrated the strategic gameplay and sportsmanship that define MIS athletics.
Five students from Manado Independent School (MIS) showcased their exceptional mathematical and scientific abilities on the international stage, earning accolades in two prestigious Asia-level competitions: the China-Hong Kong Mathematics Competition (Hua Xia Cup) - Qualifier Round and the Japan International Science and Mathematics Olympiad (JISMO).
On April 11, 2025, the Manado Independent School family took a refreshing step away from the usual classroom and office routines to embrace a day of joy, renewal, and meaningful connection at the serene Tuturuga Beach. The annual Teachers and Staff Excursions proved to be more than just a well-deserved break—it was a time to recharge spiritually and reconnect genuinely.
Manado Independent School (MIS) has again shone on the international stage. Lionel Pasaribu, an 8th-grade student at MIS Middle School, proudly brought home a silver medal from the 2025 Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia, held in Incheon, South Korea, from April 2–5, 2025.
