MIS Basketball Reigns Supreme at SCK Cup

The atmosphere was electric with pride and excitement on the Citra Kasih School basketball court as Manado Independent School (MIS) made history with a remarkable sweep of victories at the 2025 SCK Cup, held on April 26, 2025. Competing in both the Elementary School (SD) and Middle School (SMP) categories, MIS boys’ and girls’ teams dominated the tournament, securing championship titles across all divisions. The four winning teams—SD Boys, SD Girls, SMP Boys, and SMP Girls—demonstrated the strategic gameplay and sportsmanship that define MIS athletics.

In the Elementary School division, the MIS boys’ and girls’ teams impressed from the very first game. Their success was built on strong team coordination and sharp game awareness, which led both teams to championship titles. Wilson Lim (Grade 5) stood out with his exceptional performance and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). The MIS SD Girls’ Team was equally outstanding. Led by Rachel Lolowang (Grade 6), who also earned the MVP award, the team dominated each match with confidence and skill. Rachel’s fearless play inspired her teammates to push their limits and play with bold determination.

In the Middle School division, MIS continued to shine. The MIS SMP Boys’ Team, led by standout player Keane Wowiling (Grade 8), impressed with tactical precision and sharp game vision. Keane’s leadership and skill earned him the MVP title, and his team’s dominance was evident through their fast-paced offense and solid defense.

The MIS SMP Girls’ Team was equally remarkable, which showed great resilience and discipline to claim their championship title. Keisya Arifin (Grade 9), named MVP, shared her journey:

“Playing for the MIS basketball team required a lot of preparation. For this SCK Cup, we focused on one goal—winning the trophy. Our training was intense and helped form a disciplined and united team. I’m very happy and grateful to be named MVP.” These victories resulted from months of dedicated training under the guidance of committed coaches. With such strong potential and passion displayed by these young athletes, the future of basketball—and sports in general—at MIS looks incredibly promising.
