Manado Independent School (MIS) kicked off the 2024-2025 school year with a vibrant and engaging orientation for both new and returning students on July 24 and 25, 2024. As students entered the school gates, they were greeted with warm smiles from MIS administrators, marking the start of an exciting new chapter.
Designed to foster a strong sense of community and provide a comprehensive overview of school life, the orientation immersed students in the MIS environment. Through interactive campus tours, informative presentations, team-building activities, and inspiring alumni stories, students gained insights into the school’s vision, mission, rules, and values.
A highlight of the orientation was the emphasis on student safety and well-being. Cyberbullying prevention was addressed by IPDA Johnson Moto, while Brigadier General Pitra A. Ratulangi, S.I.K., M.M., from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) delivered a crucial talk on drug prevention.
The students’ enthusiasm was palpable throughout the orientation. Clarissa Sulamanda, a new 10th-grader, expressed her excitement, stating, “The school and SA officers have created an amazing program. I’m thrilled to be here and look forward to making new friends and achieving great grades.” Julio and Timothy, also 10th-graders, appreciated the informative seminars, emphasizing the importance of cyber safety and drug prevention.
Vice Principal of Student Affairs, Henok D. Anito, MAEd., extended a warm welcome to all students and families. He expressed his pride in the MIS community and encouraged both new and returning students to embrace the opportunities for growth and development offered by the school.
The MIS orientation was a resounding success, creating a positive and inspiring start to the new school year.
