Manado Independent School Students Soar to National Science Olympiad!

Manado Independent School (MIS) is celebrating a remarkable achievement! Six talented students from MIS’s elementary, middle, and high school have secured spots at the prestigious National Science Olympiad (OSN) 2024. This national competition allows students to showcase their exceptional skills and knowledge in various scientific fields.

Through a rigorous selection process, these MIS students proved their academic excellence, earning the right to represent North Sulawesi at the national level. Their success is officially recognized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (Balai Pengembangan Talenta Indonesia) through Decrees No.: Manual.107/J7.1/PN.00/2024 (Elementary Science), No.: Manual.121/J7.1/PN.00/2024 (Middle School Science), and No.: 0928/J7.1/PN.00/2024 (High School Geography).

Meet the MIS Standouts:

Middle School Science: Gabe D’great Van Havelaar and Vincensia Annabelle Putri Nar Wigriyan

Elementary School Science: Maria Michellin Silvia Moniaga and Isabelle Baguna

Elementary School Mathematics: Cicely Amy Tooy

High School Geography: Christopher Hizkia

These dedicated students have undergone intensive training to prepare them for the national competition. Christopher Hizkia, representing MIS in Geography, expressed his gratitude and excitement:

“Despite the challenging amount of material, the preparation has been smooth. I feel well-equipped for the national level. The school has provided tremendous opportunities and support throughout this journey. My parents have been with me every step of the way. The national competition is a significant challenge, but with God’s will, I believe I can bring home a medal. I kindly request prayers and support from the MIS family and everyone for our team. With faith and hard work, success can be achieved!”

The national level selection for OSN (Elementary and Middle School) will be held online via web and Android applications from August 5th to 11th, 2024. The High School competition will take place in person at the Indonesian Talent Development Center in Jakarta from August 26th to 31st, 2024 (according to detikedu web).

Dr. Vijaya K. Kollabathula, Principal of MIS High School, expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments:

“We are incredibly thrilled to celebrate Hizkia Christopher’s impressive achievement at the provincial level. This success is a testament to his dedication, the exceptional support from his teachers and trainers, and the unwavering encouragement from his family. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students who reached the national level. Your hard work and perseverance are truly inspiring.
