MIS 10th Annual Career Fest 2023

The Manado Independent School (MIS) hosted the 10th Annual Career Fest 2023, the largest international educational exhibition in North Sulawesi. More than 50 institutions worldwide participated, representing over 100 universities and colleges. This event was not only open to MIS students but other students from surrounding schools who are interested in joining the program and inquiring about the best universities or colleges. Moreover, grade 12 student’s parents were also invited to accompany and guide their children.

On the first day, international and national institutions involved in MIS Career Fest attended a Gala Dinner and Technical Meeting. The next day, representatives from each university and college presented their institutions. Students could then ask questions and discuss directly with institutional representatives topics such as educational scholarships, admission requirements, campus locations, and tuition fees.

Edward Theowidjaja, a grade 12 high school student at MIS, shared his experience of participating in the event: “It was wonderful! I was able to acquire a lot of useful information about universities I’m interested in. This kind of event is beneficial for students like me to learn more about universities, including the undergraduate programs offered, admission requirements, facilities provided, and benefits. It also helped me consider universities I hadn’t considered before.”

Cheyenne Awoloei, another grade 12 high school student at MIS, also felt the many benefits of participating in MIS Career Fest activities: “This event was advantageous for me in numerous ways. It gave me the chance to have one-on-one conversations with university representatives, enabling me to ask specific questions about their programs and admission requirements. This interaction empowered me to make well-informed decisions about my future academic pursuits. I’m grateful that through Career Fest I was able to identify universities renowned for their finance programs and gather essential information about the curriculum and research opportunities. I also want to thank the high school administrators and the entire staff for their unwavering support in helping grade 12 students to find the best educational paths. Their dedication in organizing events like Career Fest and providing us with the resources to explore our options has been instrumental in shaping our futures.”
