Manado Independent School (MIS), as a member of the Indonesian SPK School Association (PSSI), collaborated with Bett Asia to expand the educational network in the Asian region. Bett Asia is the only regional event that focuses on gathering ministers, senior leaders, and changemakers in education to share knowledge, best practices, and ideas that create a real, meaningful impact on the future of the education technology sector in Southeast Asia. This year’s theme was “Transforming Minds for a Sustainable Future.”
On October 4-5, 2023, at the Bett Asia 2023 Leadership Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, MIS was the only SPK school in North Sulawesi to attend. MIS had the honor to participate in and attend a meeting with the British Embassy Jakarta, which was also attended by His Majesty’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Southeast Asia, Sam Myers, represented by Mrs. Fionne Lengkong, S.E., M.Pd., a PSSI administrator.
“It is an honor to meet with His Majesty’s Deputy Trade Commissioner for Southeast Asia, Sam Myers, to identify ways to support teacher’s professional development in Indonesia during the Bett Asia event in Bangkok,” said Fionne. Bett Asia’s activities were combined with visiting two international schools, one of which is the largest and oldest school in Bangkok, namely Shrewsbury International School Bangkok City Campus, and Bangkok Patana School, which was founded in 1957.
MIS’s active participation as one of the administrators and members of SPK and its collaboration with Bett Asia are aimed at contributing to improving quality education and preparing students to become a superior generation who can compete globally.
