Manado Independent School (MIS) held an in-service training on integrity and professionalism in education on July 17-18, 2023 at the MIS Auditorium. The two-day event was attended by all teachers and staff, and was aimed at imparting knowledge, skills, motivation, and most importantly, integrity to the school’s workforce.
The theme of the in-service training was “Integrity in Education.” The keynote speakers were Mrs. Maribel R. Gaite, Ph.D., and Mr. Joppie J. Rondonuwu, Ph.D., both of whom are experts in the field of technology and education. Mr. Billy Kumolontang, MBA, the Director of MIS, hosted the material for non-teaching staff.
In his presentation, Mr. Kumolontang outlined the 5-Ps of work that must be implemented by non-teaching staff: performance, participation, personality, promotion, and principles of work. He emphasized the importance of completing all tasks on time and to a high standard, obeying and listening to instructions from supervisors, developing attitudes and characters with integrity, being obedient to religion, and showing kindness and hospitality to parents, students, and fellow employees.
The keynote speakers also gave presentations on the importance of integrity in education. Mrs. Gaite discussed the ethical dimensions of teaching, while Mr. Rondonuwu focused on the practical implications of integrity in the classroom.
The in-service training was a valuable opportunity for teachers and staff to learn about the importance of integrity in education. The seminars will help to ensure that MIS continues to provide a high-quality education to its students.
