MIS CARES: Assistance to Flood Victims in Manado

Manado Independent School (MIS) expressed compassion by helping residents affected by the flood disaster that struck Manado City two weeks ago. The school took the initiative to assist people affected by the calamity. On Thursday, February 2, 2023, school administrators, assisted by SA officers from elementary, middle, and high school sections, helped distribute the packed goods to the residents impacted by the disaster.

The distribution of goods happened in three severely affected areas: Paal 2 behind Pasar Segar, Tikala Baru, and Paniki Baru. The assistance provided was in the form of rice, noodles, milk, cooking oil, biscuits, and other goods.

Matthew Nasry, the SA president of the high school section, noted that the residents in Paniki, the location they visited, appreciated and deeply acknowledged the assistance provided by MIS. He said, “It was personally a rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share blessings with those who may not have been so fortunate because of the disaster that befell them. I hope they can all be united during times of trial, encouraging, helping, and most importantly, trusting the Lord.”

MIS values the participation of parents in humanitarian activities such as community service. The care initiative was well coordinated and successful. It is hoped that MIS was able to provide some assistance to residents in need, if not much. The MIS family keeps the flood victims in their prayers.
