Manado Independent School delivered goods and gifts to the target recipients of the raised funds following a successful charity concert, “Music for Freedom,” on November 23-24, 2022. This year’s recipients of the fund raised are the following: Panti Asuhan Nazareth Tomohon, Panti Asuhan Merciville Yetterang Remboken, Panti Asuhan Etty Tondano, Panti Asuhan Iman Anak – Anak Tondano, Panti Asuhan Rapi Manado, Panti Werda.
Donations included rice, eggs, cooking oil, sardines, sugar, instant noodles, biscuits, detergent, bath soap, dishwashing soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and more. Upon request from the orphanages and homes for the aged- a 50-inch TV, washing machine, gas stove, and electric iron- were also provided. Other necessities such as towels, brooms, mops, mattresses, pillows, sheets, school equipment, bags, and notebooks were among the supplies brought to the recipients.
Community service is a school activity held every December right after the final examination of the first semester. Administrators, SA officers of each section, and non-academic staff led the distribution of goods on December 9 and 12. Several students who took part in making this donation understood the beauty of sharing and caring for others more and more.
MIS hopes the social assistance provided can alleviate the economic burden on the orphanages and underprivileged residents in the vicinity. Additionally, may this act of service serve as a precedent for more acts of goodwill to the people on the fringes of this region. On this note, MIS wants to extend its sincerest gratitude to the students – especially their parents – who unceasingly support MIS Community Service program by donating goods and funds.
