Manado Independent School (MIS), which is the only school that holds an international school title and one of the members of the Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK) in North Sulawesi, always provides the best education quality and facilities for its students. Recently, MIS again hosted an educational program that is regularly held once a school year, namely the 9th Annual MIS Career Fest 2022 on 26 – 28 October 2022 at the MIS Auditorium. Career Fest is one of the activities that facilitate the grade 12 high school students who will continue their education to a higher level with various information about national and international universities; hoping that students can choose the good quality university and major to be addressed.

The MIS Career Fest is open to the public, accessible, and can be attended by parents of grade 12 high school students. Prior to the peak of the MIS Career Fest, Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 18:00 P.M., all students and the representatives from universities and institutions who had arrived at MIS attended the Gala Dinner at the MIS Function Hall. The gala dinner was deliberately created to create rapport between the MIS 12th-grade students and each university and become a place for casual conversation if students want to ask questions about the majors they are interested in.
For two days, MIS Career Fest 2022 is lively and fun. In this activity, there is a presentation session from the university, and grade 12 students and parents can consult more with guardians and agents at the booth session, not only that, several universities are not responsible for providing academic and non-academic scholarships for grade 12 students who pass the registration and test stages.
One of the MIS 12th-grade students, Michelle Yo shared her experience while participating in the MIS Career Fest “I can have a wider insight and know the parts contained in the university/college, because of this event I can choose the major I’m interested in. There is one university that caught my attention, which is the Swiss Management Hotel School.” Michelle, who has a passion for culinary, said that later she would study majoring in Hospitality and Culinary Management. For Michelle, the benefits of participating in a career fest are significant because the Career fest provides many choices of universities/colleges to choose from, registration information, and looking for more information about a major/university/campus. “Career fest also helps us students get scholarships which are very useful for us, besides that we can also consult about majors, costs, facilities, and others that are of interest to us.”
