Manado Independent School (MIS) has again shone on the international stage. Lionel Pasaribu, an 8th-grade student at MIS Middle School, proudly brought home a silver medal from the 2025 Global English Language Olympiad of Southeast Asia, held in Incheon, South Korea, from April 2–5, 2025.
Showing Compassion Through Medical Mission Service

High school students from Manado Independent School (MIS) brought their learning to life by participating in a Medical Mission program held at Eden Advent Church, Airmadidi, North Sulawesi, on March 20, 2025. These students, who are enrolled in the Human Anatomy course—part of the school’s medical class curriculum—were able to extend their classroom knowledge into real-world community service.

MIS Students Compose Song “Redeemed by Love”

Music has always united believers and lifted hearts in praise to God. This year, Manado Independent School (MIS) celebrated an extraordinary musical achievement as a group of grade 12 students composed an original Christian hymn, “Redeemed by Love.” The students behind this inspiring song are Jeewel Felycia Budiman, Sunny Miracle Tambelangi, Melinda Shercynnie Felicia Karu, and Veirli Virginia Evelyn Liempepas. The song made its debut on March 10, 2025, during the first day of Prayer Week.
MIS Week of Prayer Reminds us of God’s Love

Before the start of teaching and learning activities, students and teachers of Manado Independent School (MIS) gathered every morning for a week to participate in the Week of Prayer from March 10 to 14, 2025 at the MIS auditorium. This Week of Prayer is held every semester as a time needed by students and teachers to renew their faith and strengthen their spiritual journey to get closer to God. This semester, MIS felt blessed by the presence of Pastor Roxie Joy Pido, Director of Communications & Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) at the Southwest Philippine Unity Conference.
MIS Culinary Week Celebrates and Strengthens Indonesian Culture

Manado Independent School (MIS) hosted its much-anticipated Culinary Week on March 11, 2025. The event, themed Appreciating Local Delights, provided a platform for MIS high school students enrolled in cooking classes to showcase their skills and knowledge by preparing a variety of local dishes and beverages from regions in the Northern Province. Dishes such as Nasi Kuning Abon, Ikan Woku Belanga, Nasi Tumpeng, and Klapertart were among the many highlights served at the event.
MIS Hosts a Successful Blood Donation Drive: A Heartfelt Initiative

Manado Independent School (MIS) continues to showcase its dedication to community service through the MIS Cares initiative, specifically with the Blood Donation Program. The MIS Science Club, in partnership with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), spearheaded the blood donation event on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the MIS clinic. The initiative aimed to make a tangible impact on public health while promoting the spirit of giving.
English at MIS Breaks into the Digital Era

Manado Independent School (MIS) is once again holding its much-anticipated annual event, English Week. This year, the celebration is scheduled from March 3 to 7, 2025, at the MIS Auditorium, centered around the theme, “English in the Digital Age.” The theme highlights the significant impact of technology on how we learn and communicate in English, showcasing how digital advancements can enhance language skills.

Day 7, Sunday, February 23, kicked off with the swimming competition at 9:00 AM, where the crowd marveled at the athletes’ breathtaking dives and flawless strokes in events such as breaststroke and freestyle. The excitement continued into the evening, culminating in the swimming awards ceremony celebrating the athletes who secured their prestigious prizes.
